Happy on Mediabridge Computer RJ45 Networking

I purchased this CD set for my class and could not be happier. I couldn’t imagine a library without it especially with so many reading (and time) impaired students, our dyslexic students are helped immeasurably by this audio. It does not hurt that the narrator is wonderfully expressive and truly brings the story to life. I could not recommend these five compact discs enough. Be sure to check your sellers rating before you buy.

What people think about Retold Iron Serving America

I was always curious about this book. I have heard of it for as long as I can remember. I have seen many referencs made to it. And I know there was a relationship with this book tied to Mark David Chapman, the assasin of John Lennon.

What I don’t understand is what the big deal is about it. It is well written and very discriptive but ultimately seems pointless. It follows a few days in the life of a student expelled from his school and doesn’t really go anywhere or make any point. I am not a big reader of fiction so maybe I’m missing something here.

All I can say is if you have been one, like myself who has always been curious about “The Catcher and the Rye”, don’t waste your time.

The almost transparent glass surfaced EatSmart scale is an elegant addition to any bathroom and it is dead-on accurate. I tested it with calibrated weights and compared it to the balance weight type scale in my health club. The EatSmart scale has a large lighted digital readout that is easy on my seriously myopic eyes, is relatively compact and quite easy to use. After first stepping on and off the scale to allow it to calibrate, step back on and it displays your weight to the tenth of a pound (or kilogram, or stone) in a moment. It need not be re-calibrated unless carried to a different location — merely sliding it around the floor doesn’t trigger the brief, simple, recalibration. At the price offered by EatSmart (all shipping included) I think is a genuine bargain. I do love this scale and use it daily. To my doctor’s satisfaction the frequent weight remninder did inspire me to join a health club and watch the pounds gradually decrease. This is a great purchase.

Problem of PB Swiss PB 135

I had gone through a series of cheap spring-style scales when, for health reasons, I decided to get something more accurate. The scales I had used before tended to be five to ten pounds off and did not give a consistent reading. It was also difficult to determine within two pounds what my weight was. Zeroing these scales did not calibrate them either. I would need to add several pounds to get it to match what the scales read at the doctors’ offices. It was an exercise in frustration.

When the EatSmart(tm) Precision Digital Bathroom Scale arrived, I was frankly skeptical. I knew that it was be much easier to read, even in a dark room, and that the digital readout with its decimal point would be more precise. But would it be more accurate? I used it for several weeks and could immediately tell that it was more accurate than my old scale. It gave me a consistent reading every time. On one of my monthly trips to the doctor, I weighed myself on the digital scale at the doctors office and it read 147.0 lbs. I was careful on my return home to do nothing that would alter my weight. Upon stepping on the scale in the same state of dress, I was delightfully surprised to find that my EatSmart(tm) Precision Digital Bathroom Scale read 147.0 lbs, a perfect match with the professional digital scale at the doctor’s office. My compliments to the people at EatSmart for designing a scale that was both Precise AND Accurate.

I purchased this watch as a heart rate monitor and calorie counter. It is a well designed device with many exceptional features; except, one that calculates calories burned based upon heart rate. I weight lift two to three times each week and do cardio-workouts (treadmill/stair stepper, etc.) on the the remaining days. I purchased the watch based upon its description and my trainers recommendation. The first time I used it, we worked out hard and the watch only showed 28 calories burned. A bit disappointing to be sure! I goggled the issue and found a forum that suggested I download an additional software (cost of $99.00) that would convert the data. I phoned Garmin and told them of my plight! The customer service person was wonderful and essentially told me the device was not designed for weight training; rather, running, biking, etc – outside! She suggested a few different models that would calculate my calories based upon heart rate instead of time and distance. When I researched her recommendations, I found the price range to be well over #300.00. My trainer suggested a different device from Polar. I phoned Polar and the sales person, also wonderful, recommended three different models. I eventually purchased an FT40 from Amazon. I have used it for the last several weeks and it has been awesome. The long and short, if you are an outside runner/bicyclist, the device is great! If you largely workout inside, the device is less than optimal.

Say hi to s Women Casio LTP1254D

This seems to be a nice watch although I wouldn’t know as it arrived with a dead battery. Big disappointment! I’ll have to take it to a jeweler and have the battery replaced. Not such a great deal with having to spend an extra ten dollars to have a new battery put in but it’s too much trouble to send it back.

I could not put this book down. It is such a great read. I’ll leave the summaries of what the book is about to other reviewers. This book really made me think. I had never thought about this issue at all, and certainly not from the points of view presented in the book.

Read it!

The novel The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger is a powerful novel chronicling the life of an upper class teenage boy, Holden Caulfield during the early 1950’s. Around this time, more and more people were conforming to society, dressing the same, acting the same, and through Holden, Salinger challenges those ideals. The book opens when Holden is expelled from yet another boarding school, because of his awful grades. He finds the world around him to be fake, and those people who demand him to conform to be phonies, not true to themselves. He sets off for New York City on his own, in a journey of self-exploration where he learns about love, life, and sex. As a troubled youth, he is a constant pessimist about the world around him, seeing it to be a mass conformist nation, without any true individuals, except for himself of course. His early life is troubled, and his younger brother’s death shook him badly, and effected him deeply. Some of the pessimism comes from his older brother, a writer who in Holden’s opinion became a prostitute for Hollywood, abandoning his own writing to work for the movies, selling out in the worst way.His parents seem vastly absent in the novel, perhaps suggesting that his parents are not role models for him, and while they may love him, they do not truly understand him. Without this adult guidance he mistrusts the adult world, a cynical view which pervades the whole book. This kind of teenage rebellion is something that the youth of today can easily relate to. Holden himself is an easily relatable character, and modern teens will find something of his character similar in themselves, whether that’s his cynicism, or his constant thoughts about sex. He is confused by sex, but still finds it intriguing, and of course wants very badly to experience it. He goes on a date, with an old friend, and while he tries very badly to be charming, he cannot stand how absolutely fake he feels she is, and this leaves him disappointed with the world in gene
