9 0 LINUX Mandrake Final

originally, i was ecstatic with this purchase and literally couldn’t be happier. unfortunately, the memory card became unusable after i left the original review. i received this card about 2.5 months ago and it worked great up until last week. every time i went to use it in my camera, it would say “memory card error”. not only would it not work, it would also corrupt any photos or videos i had taken with that card (losing critical shots). i’ve tried to reformat it several times both on the camera and on my computer. it will work for a couple hours and then the same error occurs. i just can’t trust it anymore after having lost so much photo/video data. i’m disappointed that it worked so great at first, and now i’m left with the feeling that i essentially wasted $100 with no recourse.

original review:

i purchased this memory card for my brand new digital camera (canon powershot SX1 IS). since it takes HD video and has raw capability for digital cameras, i needed the largest memory card i could find that was still SDHC class 6. i couldn’t have been happier when i stumbled across this affordable memory card with so much space. i’ve only had it for a couple weeks, but i’ve had no problems yet (and have been using it extensively). the only minor issue (and i have a feeling it’s my laptop and not the memory card), is sometimes when i upload the images to my laptop…it says there are “errors” with a few photos and i have to manually copy those over (instead of it transferring through the photo wizard). again, i think that might be a computer issue…and even so, not a problem since i can just open the memory card folder and drag them over.

this card comes highly recommended!

I have used a pedometer on and off for years. When our office offered a fitness challenge, I knew I wanted to participate. The counting and tracking of steps was essential, so my search began for a reliable pedometer. I checked the local “mart” and sports stores, and did research online. I determined the Omron HJ-112 was the best choice. I carefully calibrated the essential information, and attached it to my pants. The first thing I noticed was that it did a good job of not mistakenly identifying random movement as steps which was a plus. I thought that I was getting an accurate reading until I realized it wasn’t actually counting all my steps. My daughter, who was also participating in the challenge, commented that I don’t have much hip movement when I walk and that’s why it wasn’t working properly. She was right! Her pedometer, which cost significantly less, did a far better job of accurately counting her steps.

Another issue I have with this pedometer is the size. It is bulky and less than discreet. A diabetic family member remarked that it resembles a blood glucose meter or insulin pump. I believe the unwieldy size contributes to the fact that it does not stay securely clipped to clothing. I have lost it repeatedly which is annoying, and contributes to the less than accurate step totals.

I would not recommend this pedometer, nor would I purchase it again.

Read about Pink Light Dinner 9 now

Many people told me that this was one of the best books they had read in a long time. I purchased it as a gift for a family member who wholeheartedly agreed with that advice and loaned it back to me to read. Great book!
